The I Care project is based on “Citizenship” and consists of three strands.  The first of these teaches citizenship modules on a shared basis, starting with Year 8, who will then continue these shared modules into Years 9 and 10.  Two further cohorts will follow the first, teaching will be provided by a mixture of virtual and face-to-face methods.

The second strand delivers a variety of Key Stage 4/5 PE modules and coaching awards to pupils in the two post-primary schools.  Pupils from both these schools will coach children from the local primary schools during term time and will also be involved in the running of summer schools.  There will also be sporting tournaments held on a regular basis where local primary schools will field mixed teams and classes.

The final strand involves the delivery of a Mediascape Citizenship Project using a variety of ICT equipment.  Using Mediascape in conjunction with GPS software, pupils can access images, sounds and commentary which will enable them to focus on local issues.
