Ashfield Girls’ High School (ICT) &
Little Flower, St Louise’s College, St Joseph’s PS

This bid consists of 3 main strands; the first involves a science and mentoring project aimed at P7 pupils in St Joseph’s PS and Year 8 pupils in Ashfield Girls’ HS.  P7 pupils will attend Ashfield for weekly science classes and will be joined by Ashfield Year 8 pupils who will mentor them.  To date St Joseph’s Primary has had no curricular links with any other schools
The second strand comprises a Citizenship project to deliver a programme to Year 8 classes from Ashfield and Little Flower,  on diversity, tolerance and cultural traditions.  A second element to the project will be shared classes in dance and performing arts for pupils throughout the schools and their parents. This shared collaboration will be developed to a post-16 level as the project develops.
The third strand comprises a link between Ashfield and St Louise’s and will develop ICT via video-conferencing and face-to-face classes, this will enable the delivery of the Key Stage 3 curriculum to one set of Year 8 pupils in St Louise’s and Ashfield Girls’ HS.
It is also planned to hold regular celebratory events for each project, the aim being to involve parents and the wider school community in celebrating the advances of both sets of pupils.
