St Louise's 50th Anniversary Gala |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Pupils from St Louise's College and Victoria College performed extracts from their play 'Two Belfast Girls' in front of a packed Grand Opera House. The play was originally devised as part of the joint GCSE Drama course that the two schools run, and has already been shown at the Old Museum Arts Centre and Youth Action. Last night a shortened version of the play was perfermed as part of St Louise's 50th Anniversary Gala Concert. 'Two Belfast Girls' uses humour and gravitas in equal measure to directly address reconcilliation issues, and the changing face of life in Belfast. The story focusses on two young girls who meet when they are young and become firm friends, despite coming from 'different sides of the community'. The story then shows how their lives diverge due to pressures from family and friends.
